We've had a few questions regarding charges that are appearing on your child's lunch account at school. While breakfast and lunch are free, we want to remind everyone that extra milk or milk without a full meal is not. Many students take an extra milk after they finish their first. If you would prefer they don't, be sure to have that conversation with your child. Please see the attached reminder with more information regarding milk charges. If you have further questions, please call the school office. Thank you!

In accordance with the executive order issued by Governor Burgum on Friday, November 13, the following will be implemented at Divide County Public Schools effectively immediately: 1. All students and staff in grades K-12 will be required to wear a mask while in the school building and throughout the school day. Exceptions to this mandate are outlined in the executive order in regards to health conditions of which a student may not be required to wear a mask. Social distancing is no longer a consideration with mask use as per the executive order, therefore, all students will be required to wear a mask regardless of distancing available in their classroom or other building space. This executive order also includes bus transportation, therefore students riding the bus to/from school will be required to wear a mask during their bus ride each day. 2. Extracurricular activities are prohibited effective November 16 and until December 14 which includes at this time - practices, or any organized gathering outside the regular school day. Events that are academic or related specifically to an educational function can be held under this order and will be coordinated and monitored through the school district. 3. The executive order does NOT have an impact on the school district food service program or school meals provided by the school district during the school day. We appreciate the cooperation of our students and families with the new guidelines and efforts to address the current pandemic situation in our region/state.

Please help keep our school doors open by becoming a substitute teacher or a paraprofessional substitute. You may be more qualified than you think! We are experiencing more staff needing to quarantine or isolate at home. This is making it increasingly difficult to keep classrooms open. Many of these teachers are healthy, asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms and are able to teach from home, however, we are not able to leave students without an adult physically present in the room. We are looking for community members who are willing to become certified as either substitute teachers or substitute paras simply to be the adult in the room while the teachers who are able, teach from home. Duties would include helping students and the teacher as needed with basic functions of the classroom. We are also in need of para substitutes to work with students in small groups or individual settings. Listed below are the requirements to become a sub or a para. If you are able to help out one day a week or as many as possible, we could use your assistance! If you are interested, contact the school TODAY! Let's tackle the challenges our school is facing together and keep our doors open for our kids! Substitute License Requirements -Official transcript documenting a minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework provided to ESPB. -Successful background check completed with ESPB. -Online application for the substitute license. https://www.nd.gov/espb/ Paraprofessional Requirements -Complete a DCSD Application for Employment -Successfully complete a background check

In compliance with the state health officer order and Governor Burgum’s executive order, beginning Mon., Nov. 16 face masks will continue to be required at DCE & DCHS. The DCHS Concert scheduled for Tues., Nov. 17 is still on as scheduled with limited attendance (ticket required to attend), face masks must be worn at all times, and distancing between those not in your household is required. We appreciate audience compliance so we can allow our students to continue with this activity. DCSD, along with other ND schools, is currently reviewing Governor Burgum's new mandates. The mandates are not expected to change our current in-person instructional model, but may affect our safety precaution level. The start of winter sports and other school activities will be delayed until December 14. NDHSAA sponsored activities will be allowed to complete their fall events. We will keep you updated as more information is available. https://www.governor.nd.gov/news/burgum-announces-new-requirements-businesses-gatherings-and-masks-delays-winter-activities?fbclid=IwAR2imy3DfME80XFmGeOnFhuDzOJdpdqfIV34Svo7vum60IHmASNJ5y4aong https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2855827051321296
