When it comes to summer, reading may not be the first thing—or even in the top ten things—kids have in mind! But reading can be the ideal summer activity. It’s fun, portable, can involve the whole family, and will help your child academically. Use these resources to launch a summer of reading. And, as always, check out your local library! https://www.readacrossamerica.org/kids-summer-reading-list/

Just a reminder that tomorrow and Wednesday we are having students return items to the school buildings from 1:00 to 6:30. Students last name A to M is Tuesday and last names N to Z is on Wednesday. JH and High School students will be allowed to get their gym stuff during this time as well. We have bagged up gym locker equipment and it will be in the back of the school, in the bus barn. That is the North East corner of the school, in between the high school and the football field. School employees will be present to help supervise equipment return and ensure social distancing. We will have a sign out sheet with a recorder filling out when people take their gear back, to help ensure honesty and security of peoples personal property. We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation, honesty and patience in this process. Looking forward to seeing people come and go the next few days.

Hey everyone, A document has been shared with the senior graduating class in their respective senior Google Classroom outlining the social distancing requirements of this years ceremony on May 24th at the high school gym. Each senior will get to bring eight family member guests, and will be seated by ushers six feet apart to maximize social distancing. Also, all graduates and their families will be required to wear masks. These precautions are being done in part to appease recommendations from the state of North Dakota and the state school board association. Ultimately DC schools are using these precautions to protect all of the graduating students, the graduates families and everyone involved with the ceremony. The school is recommending the decorating of individual masks to make the process more unique and enjoyable. Thanks everyone for your cooperation and understanding! Congrats to the class of 2020.

Hello DCE and DCHS families! The yearbook staff needs your help! We would like to see pictures of you in your "home" school setting! We want to see what life is like for everyone now. DCE students and families: We want to see where you do your school work and what you have been doing while at home. Have you learned something new or tried a new food? We want a picture of it! DCHS students and families: Where do you do your school work? We would like pictures of you in your prom dress, or the vehicle you were going to go to prom in, maybe the meal you would have eaten that night. We want to see how you are spending your time and what your new normal looks like. We will use these pictures to fill our yearbook! Please email pictures to dcsdyearbook@gmail.com. Thank you for all your help! Jaclyn Lokken and the Yearbook Staff
