Also, reminder, Girls Basketball will have a parent meeting on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023 @ 6:30 PM @ the High School. This meeting will be for parents of players in grades 9-12.

THANK YOU to the Concordia Church Ladies and the Roughrider 4-H Club for making blankets and donating them to our DCSD buses! The blankets are intended for use in case a bus stalls or gets stuck during winter weather. Thank you for thinking of our students and bus drivers!


Stroll Night Caroling!!! DCE Elementary students in grades 3-6 have once again been invited to usher in the Christmas season by singing downtown on Stroll Night. We will gather just before 7:00 P.M. on Friday, November 24th in front of the Healthy Cricket (formerly Garbel's Furniture) on Main Street. We will sing for 15-20 minutes. All students who are able to come will get to have a special treat in school sometime after the concerts and before Christmas break. Dress for the weather and come to spread Christmas cheer to our community!

FACS I students are learning how to be efficient in the kitchen by using the concept of mise en place or preparing and measuring all ingredients before starting to cook. Yesterday was prep day and today they made fried rice.





JV and Varsity boys basketball practice begins Monday, November 27, 6:15pm at the high school. Attached is a master schedule with games and practice times. All athletes will also receive one of these at the first practice if they have not already gotten one from Coach Johnson. Let's have a great season!






Ag classes examined different soil texture classes.




JH boys basketball practice will begin November 27th from 5:15-6:45 at the Elementary school. Parents, please make sure you are there to pick your child up by the end time. Attached is the practice schedule for November and December.

High school boys basketball open gym tonight has been changed to 5pm

Independent Living students had a tasty day, they all were able to pick one of their budget meals, grocery shop and make it. The winner of the cheapest meal per serving was Earlen with an $0.80 /serving goulosh!










There will be no 3 on 3 basketball on Wednesday, November 22nd due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Everyone have a safe and fun holiday. See you again on November 29th.

FINANCIAL AID/SCHOLARSHIP EVENING


Budgets and grocery shopping are the topic of the week in Independent Living. The kids drew for a scenario, made a weekly menu and grocery list all within a budget. This group even got to do their own shopping for one of the planned meals.


FACS II students have been learing about how fats, sugars and salts can impact our health now and in the future. We put it into practice by taking a regular muffin recipe and swapping out the butter and sugar for healthier alternatives.





Join the DCHS Drama Club for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz on December 1 and 2 at 7:00 p.m.
