From DCE:
Dear Families,
As November begins we want to take the time to remember our Veterans. This will happen in two parts. First, we will send home remembrance hearts for students and their families to fill out and return. Second, and the one that touched the veteran's hearts so much was a handwritten letter by our students and their families thanking them for their service. We ask that the letters not be addressed to a specific person but rather to “Dear Veteran”.
The remembrance hearts will hang on the flag that the kindergarteners will make and hang in the hallway by the office. There will be copies of the hearts in the hallway by the flag for families and community members to add names to our flag. Our goal is not to leave any veteran out of this year's remembrance! We are asking the help of all our families and community members to let us know the name and address of anybody you know that is a veteran, so we can acknowledge all of them. Copies of each of the letters will be sent to the Veteran Retirement Home in Lisbon, ND.
Our thank you touches our Veterans deeply.
