Dear Parent/Guardian and Staff
We have been notified that there are 2 positive COVID-19 cases at DCE in Grade 3D. (Mrs. Domonoske/Overbo Section) All classmates and staff in Grade 3D have been identified as likely close contacts to both of the individuals with COVID-19. Parents of students in this class have been notified. This does not mean that your child will get COVID-19 infection, but staff/guardians should be aware of the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 infection and what to do if you/your child gets sick.
Divide County School District is allowing close contacts to attend school if they have not had a positive COVID test result and remain asymptomatic since the current COVID exposure, on the condition that close contacts wear a mask when inside for 10 days following the date of last exposure. If the close contact chooses to not wear a mask, or does not wear it properly, during the 10-day quarantine period, they must stay at home. Please note, this exemption DOES NOT apply to HOUSEHOLD Close Contacts. Household contacts will be required to stay home for the isolation and quarantine period, unless they have been vaccinated or had a documented case of COVID-19 within the last 90 days.
Grade 3D students/staff quarantine/masking period extends from September 4 through September 13 at 11:59 p.m.
Grade 3D Staff/Students may be released from the mask requirement AFTER DAY 7 if the following criteria are met:
• Remain symptom free
• Test negative for COVID-19 using a PCR or antigen test administered on DAY 5 or later.
• Provide documentation of negative test

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Please note that additional positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported at DCE and DCHS. All classmates in Grade 10 and the JV/Varsity Football Team have been identified as likely close contacts to one of the individuals with COVID-19. At DCE, a small group of students/staff have been identified and those individuals have been notified. The positive case is not in a specific grade level.
